Cityshine's paver cleaning and sealing service
Pavers look great when they're new — and they should look that way for years. The problem is most pavers are installed and then forgotten. Joints fill with dirt, weeds and moss grow through, colours fade, and the textured surface that made them look premium turns into a trap for grime.
Cityshine cleans and seals every type of Sydney paver — concrete, clay and brick — for residential patios and pool surrounds through to commercial courtyards and public walkways. Our process restores the original look, stabilises the joint sand, and locks in protection that lasts.
Every paver type
- Concrete pavers (smooth, textured, exposed aggregate)
- Clay pavers
- Brick pavers
- Travertine and natural-stone pavers
- Permeable / drainage pavers
- Commercial paver installations — plazas, walkways, courtyards
Why pavers stop looking good
- Weed and moss growth between pavers — the joint sand erodes and biology takes over
- Sand loss — joint sand washes out, pavers shift and rock underfoot
- Mould and algae — especially on shaded patios and pool surrounds
- Faded colour — UV exposure dulls concrete and clay pavers
- Efflorescence — white salt deposits, common on new concrete pavers
- Oil and food stains — outdoor dining and BBQ areas
How we clean and seal pavers
- Site assessment — Confirm paver type, identify any failing joints, drainage issues, or damage.
- Deep clean — Pressure cleaning calibrated to the paver type, plus targeted treatments for biological growth and stains.
- Joint preparation — Loose or eroded joint sand removed and joints prepped for refill.
- Joint stabilisation — Where required, polymeric sand or jointing compound applied to stabilise pavers and prevent weed regrowth.
- Sealer application — Premium PCA paver sealer applied. Choose between natural-look penetrating sealers or colour-enhancing topical sealers.
- Final inspection and care guidance.
What you get out of sealing
- Restored colour and finish
- Weed and moss prevention — sealed and stabilised joints stop biological growth
- Joint sand locked in place — pavers stay even underfoot, no rocking or shifting
- Stain resistance — oil, wine, food sealed out
- Mould-resistant surface — especially around pools and shaded patios
- Easier maintenance — water-and-broom is usually enough between professional services
FAQ
- How long does paver sealing last? 3–6 years for most residential applications. Pool surrounds and high-traffic patios may need resealing more often.
- Will sealing make my pavers slippery? No — we use sealers with anti-slip ratings for outdoor applications, and can add additional anti-slip additives where needed.
- Do you replace cracked or chipped pavers? Spot replacement we can advise on but don't typically deliver. We focus on cleaning, jointing and sealing.
- Can you do paver pool surrounds? Yes — salt-resistant sealers are critical for pool surrounds, and we specialise in this work.
- What about commercial paver installations? Yes — we work on commercial plazas, courtyards and walkways across Sydney.
